"Media in Corinth"
A film by J.M. Magrini
Synopsis: "Medea in Corinth" is a feature film about the barbarian princess Medea, the paradigmatic tragic, heroic woman wronged. With a rage and hatred, she valiantly confronts, and is ultimately overthrown by the relentless world force or spirit, which when oppressed and violated recoils, taking all things with it to destruction. Her terrible acts of brutality, although dreadful, are natural byproducts of the unavoidable cycle of conflict and revenge at work within the universe. In Medea's case, social convention is greatly responsible for the tragedy, and so the film examines the role of women in antiquity (ancient Greece). Less concerned with a woman's rights, more appropriately we explore a woman's wrongs, those done to her and by her.
